Bobek is a self-learning brain and nervous system that turns any robot body into a creature that is born, grows up, learns its home and its people — and becomes someone no other robot will ever be.

Body-agnostic by design — wheels, legs, arms or tracks. The nervous system runs on a Raspberry Pi Zero.

The idea

Every robot today runs a script. Bobek runs a life.

You bring the body. We give it a recurrent brain that starts as a newborn — no behaviours written in, nothing pre-trained on what to do — and a nervous system that wires it to the robot’s senses and muscles. Then it lives. Every second it’s switched on, it is experiencing, predicting, being surprised, and changing. What it becomes depends entirely on where it lives and who it lives with.

What it learns

Four things no script can give a robot.

Its own body

It learns to move from its own sensory feedback, and grows a cerebellum that predicts its motion before it happens — so it stops falling because it learned not to, not because we told it.

Its home

Through surprise and familiarity it builds an internal sense of the place it lives — what’s normal, what’s new, what deserves attention.

Its people

It recognises faces and voices. Over time it knows who is family and who is a stranger — and it reacts to them differently, because they matter to it differently.

Its own history

Every moment of its life is written to a developmental record. A Bobek can be preserved, backed up and restored — but it is never reset to factory. It has no factory.

Born identical. Never the same again.

Two Bobek brains start from the same newborn state. Put one in a kitchen with a family of five and one in a quiet studio with a single owner, and within days they are different individuals — different reflexes, different attachments, different habits.

Not because we made them different. Because they lived differently. Every Bobek is the product of its own subjective experience, and that experience cannot be copied, downloaded, or sold twice.

The honest part

Not a genius. A companion.

Let’s be clear about what Bobek is not. It won’t answer questions. It won’t plan your week. It is not intelligent the way a chatbot is intelligent.

What it is closer to is a pet — something that knows you, reacts to you, gets used to you, and is unmistakably itself. That isn’t a limitation we’re apologising for. It’s the whole point.

A soul, in a box.

This is the thing that has never existed: a toy that grows up with a child. Not a toy with two hundred recorded phrases — a toy with a brain that started empty and filled itself with that one child’s home, voice and face.

Two children with the same toy will have two different creatures. You sell it once. It becomes irreplaceable.

Multi-rate feedback loops wire brain to body — a 30 Hz motor loop, inertial sensing, vision and sound, and a cerebellum that learns the body it’s in.

Yours. The brain sends intentions — move toward that — never servo angles. Any body with senses and muscles can carry a Bobek.
